A leader in his field, board-certified ophthalmologist Aryeh L. Pollack, MD, offers cutting-edge treatments for a variety of eye diseases and conditions for patients in Midtown East Manhattan, Borough Park in Brooklyn, and the nearby communities. As the founder of New York Retina and Macula Institute, Dr. Pollack provides patients in New York City with the highest standard of care and the latest technologies. He specializes in retinal, vitreoretinal, and macula surgery.

Dr. Pollack’s Ivy League education began at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he earned his medical degree in 1995. Then in New York, he completed an internal medicine internship and a residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Hospital of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

To further his expertise in the study of surgical and medical retina, Dr. Pollack completed a prestigious two-year San Francisco retina fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center, in conjunction with the Schatz practice. This fellowship was instrumental in developing Dr. Pollack’s advanced knowledge and skills regarding modern vitreoretinal surgical concepts and techniques, as well as exposing him to all aspects of medical retina, including retinal vascular disease, choroidal vascular disease, and uveitis.

Academically, Dr. Pollack serves as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at New York University. He is also a member of the Eye Trauma Service of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he trains residents and fellows in the latest techniques of vitreous and retina surgery.

Dr. Pollack is among the first ophthalmologists in New York City to implement and teach 25-gauge or small incision vitreoretinal surgery for complex retinal detachments. Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc. recognizes him as an ophthalmological associate for his contributions to the advancement of eye research and disease investigation. He has published articles in major academic journals.

Dr. Pollack is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Since 2002, Dr. Pollack has welcomed patients to New York Retina and Macula Institute.
